Following are my class
Syllabi's for
Physical Science, Earth
Science,
and Physics.
Course Description: Physical Science is an integrated course of chemistry and physics at an introductory level. In the chemistry portion we will cover the aspects of matter, elements, interactions of matter, solutions and carbon chemistry. In the physics portion we will discuss motion, forces, and multiple forms of energy. Then we will tie them all together and show how they are all related to each other. As an added bonus this year, you will be introduced to significant figures and certain rules pertaining to precision with measurements.
Required Text & Resources: o Prentice Hall Exploring Physical Science © 1999 o Cost to replace $35.49 o Notebook o Pen &/or pencil o Calculator on some days
General Policies: v Respect others v Come to class prepared. If you have to leave class for whatever reason, unless deemed an emergency, you will be given a tardy each time. v No food, beverage, or candy allowed in class. o Water is allowed in class, but not in lab. v If I catch any notes being passed in class, I will take them from you and read them aloud in front of the class.
Homework Policies: Ψ If caught cheating a zero will be given on that particular assignment to all participants. Ψ Suggested to do all homework in pencil. If done in pen, all mistakes must be corrected neatly. If not, assignments will not be accepted! Ψ Late Work: 1 day late = 50% credit 2 or more days late = 0% credit o Unless prior arrangements have been made or due to an absence o Late is described as the moment immediately following the collection of the assignments. Lab Participation: ό In order to participate in lab, you will have to sign a lab safety agreement/contract. ό If you break lab equipment when you are not supposed to be using it, you will pay for the cost of a new replacement.
Prerequisites: · None
Grading Policy: · Grades are based on the following weights: o Homework = 35% o Tests = 30% o Quizzes = 15% o Labs = 20%

Course Description: Earth Science Is the study of planet Earth and its place in space. We will start with learning how to think like a scientist and then proceed to dissect the Earth starting with its smallest particles. We will build on this from the core of the planet all the way out to the other planets in our solar system. Required Text & Resources: o Glencoe Earth Science Text Book o © 1999 o Cost to replace $47.97 o Notebook o Pen &/or pencil o Calculator on some days General Policies: v Respect others v Come to class prepared. Course Description: This is an college preparatory physics course that will significantly prepare one for general physics during college. Physics is a systematic study of the physical world, particularly matter, motion, energy and force while applying multiple algebraic skills. We will primarily focus on the basic tools that a physicist needs in order to manipulate the physical world. Some of the tools include mathematics, significant figures, precision, graphing, unit conversion (dimensional analysis), and vectors. These tools will enable one to understand Newtons Laws of Motion, Forces, Universal gravitation, momentum, energy, work, simple machines, & thermodynamics. Throughout the year, we will be doing several projects in relation to context of the book
Required Text & Resources: o Glencoe Physics: Principles & Problems o © 1999 o Cost to replace $25.00 o Notebook o Pen, pencil, and an eraser. o Scientific Calculator
