The students of French 1 and 2 have the opportunity to go to a French-speaking country every two years (except when that would interfere with the music trip). The French club needs your help to send as many RLF students as possible to a French-Speaking Country. We have a number of fundraisers over the years to raise money toward this goal. When enough students make a down-payment by dead-line time (the trip can't go unless at least 12 students participate) the trip becomes a reality. When there are not enough students for the trip to go, the money earned stays in the account and is divided among the next group of students.
We would appreciate it if you would support our fundraising efforts throughout the year. We also appreciate donations of cash and/or frequent flyer mileage, which we will use for a raffle. Send donations to:

In 2006, 17 students from Lafayette, 2 students from Fosston High School and 5 adults visited the province of Quebec. The traveled from Grand Forks to Montreal where they barely had time to check into their hotel rooms before rushing off to the Bell Centre to watch the Montreal Canadiens (Les Habs) defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs. The next day was a whirlwind tour of old Montreal before taking the subway to the train station for a 2 hour train ride to Quebec City which they explored and fell in love with over the next 3 days.
In 2005,14 students from Lafayette High School were joined by 14 students from WEM and 1 student from Fosston all boarded a plane, then a bus and explored Paris, Normandy and Brittany long with Mme V. and 6 other adults for a wonderful 9 day tour.
In 2004, 8 seniors explored the beautiful region of Quebec, Canada with Mme V. and a parent chaperone. It was a wonderful 5 days. Though most of the time was spent in Montreal, we had the chance to visit Quebec City where we felt we were in Europe with its cobblestone streets and French specialty shops.
In 2001, 8 students spent 10 days in France visiting the chateau region of the Loire River Valley, the D-Day beaches of Normandy, Brittany, with it's beautiful walled city of Mont Saint Michel and, of course, Paris.
