· Lafayette Honor Society meeting, Tuesday, 2:30 p.m. in room #127.
· SCHOOL TO WORK STUDENTS: January timecards basic work skill surveys were due Friday, Feb. 3rd. Payday assignment is due TODAY, February 10th.
· Help Lafayette Schools set a record of collection for PENNIES FOR PATIENTS. Our goal this year is to challenge RLCC to see who collects the most money for this cause. Any group collection that collects the most money in the time period listed will receive a free pizza. Each home room has a collection box. There are also collection boxes on the table in the office for separate class donations. Any questions, please contact Ms. Miller. The collection for Pennies for Patients will run through March 2nd.

Career Day at UMC for Juniors on March 13, 2012,
8:45-1:15. Lunch will be provided for you at UMC. Students
will pick 2 occupational areas from about 25 different offerings. Within
each of the 2 sessions that morning, students will be able to hear from
1-3 individuals that work in jobs within the occupational area they have
chosen. You will hear about the work, the training requirements and be
able to ask questions. Signed parent permission returned to Mrs.Dalen
the week of March 5 is required for students to attend
· Juniors! April 14, 2012 ACT Registration deadline is March 9, 2012. You must register at www.actstudent.org. LHS Test Center Site code is 168150. Payment is by credit card.
· Any 7th – 9th grade girl interested in expanding your horizon at NDSU on Saturday, April 14th. Please contact Mr. Kenfield for more information and to sign up.
· Junior Girls!! Girls State, a program in government and good citizenship for young women will be held June 10-June 16 at Bethel University in St. Paul. The RLF American Legion Auxiliary may sponsor one girl. Contact Mrs. Dalen by March 1 for more information.
· Any 7th – 9th grade girl interested in expanding your horizon at NDSU on Saturday, April 14th. Please contact Mr. Kenfield for more information and to sign up.

Personalization packets
were handed out to all students. If you are interested in adding any
personalization to your yearbook, the packets have all the options that
are available. If you decide to add personalization, the early bird
offer will be extended to Friday, March 2nd.

Seniors: Please get your senior picture and a baby picture to Mrs.
Vatthauer ASAP but no later than April 1st. You may bring
in pictures or have the photographer send them to me digitally via
e-mail at
lvatthauer@redlakefalls.k12.mn.us. Also, if you have any group pictures
of several classmates that you would like posted on the Senior Page of
the website and/or in the final senior video, we would welcome those, as
well. Pictures will be returned once we have scanned them – make sure
you identify them so we know to whom to return them.

You! MN Association of
Townships Scholarship applications are at
www.mntownships.org or from Mrs. Dalen. Essay topic is: "How do
townships encourage youth to be more involved in township government and
how could schools assist in the process?" Scholarships must be
postmarked by May 1, 2012.
